Sing from your heart, if you sing from your heart it doesn't matter if you hit a bad note, if you sing from your heart your audience or who ever you are sharing with, will connect to you...” - Brandy

Jovanne Sadé

Jovanne Sadé, born Kalanne Logan, is a singer, songwriter and vocal arranger based in New York. Her proud origin however is a small town in the twin Island of Trinidad and Tobago, where her passion for music birthed and fostered by her mother.

Jovanne’s singing style was groomed by Gospel, R&B and Jazz, which drives the versatility of her vocals. She credits Kierra Sheard, Mary Mary, Whitney Houston, Jazmine Sullivan, Keke Wyatt, Jill Scott, India Arie and Brandy as her musical heroes/influences.

As with most great artists we know, Jovanne started singing in church at the tender age of 5. She also sang at various musical festivals and competitions in her local town and nationally - the seed was planted early and continues to grow and influence her life today.

A change of environment did not quench her love for music, so when she moved to the United States at age 12 she continued in her zealous pursuit of vocal mastery. She maintained her commitment to using her voice for positivity and healing by singing on the worship team at age 13 as a background vocalist and working her way to the frontline - as a worship leader - by age 15. Concurrently as a high school student Jovanne was a prominent member of her school’s musical ensemble for 3 years.

At age 18, her family moved to Charleston South Carolina, where she became immersed in the Black Southern gospel tradition. She became Worship Director of her local church and traveled with the Apostle and lead pastor. Her vocal ability did not go unnoticed for it afforded her the opportunity to be an opening artist for one of Gospel music’s living legends Shirley Ceasar.

Jovanne returned to NY at age 20 where she attended Brooklyn College and graduated in 2016 with a B.A in Philosophy and a minor in music theory. She remains grateful to her college advisor encouraging her to take the leap and use her love for music in the academic setting.

Currently, Jovanne continues to wow audiences with her powerhouse vocals at events, open mics, weddings and churches. She also does vocal training and vocal arrangements for local artists. She is the lead vocalist for the artist Ceddy Jay and is working tirelessly on her studio EP.
